Good communication. Very helpful. The product we ordered is as we anticipated. A canvas bag was included, along with Velcro tape for installation. Overall, it was an excellent experience. We are very happy with the result and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a pop up wall take to set up? +
Ten to fifteen minutes for a 3m straight wall, one person. The frame expands like a concertina and locks with magnetic bars, then the fabric graphic goes on the front. That is the whole reason to buy one: no tools, and no loose bolts to lose on a hall floor. The trade-off is that the frame is the fragile part of the kit, so expand it slowly and never force a hinge that has caught.
What is the difference between a pop up display and a tension fabric backdrop wall? +
The frame. A pop up collapses into a concertina that goes into one wheeled case, so it is built for travel, while a tension fabric wall breaks into loose tube sections and is built to stay square. Pop ups are faster to erect and lighter to carry. Tension fabric gives you a flatter face and a cheaper graphic to reprint. Buy the pop up if you do several shows a year in different cities.
Straight or curved for a 3m shell scheme stand? +
Straight, inside a shell scheme. The Octanorm back wall is already flat, so a curved pop up eats 300mm to 400mm of depth in a stand that is only 2m or 3m deep. Curved earns its keep on an open corner or peninsula booth where people approach from two sides and the frame has to stand on its own without feet splayed out into the aisle.
What are the GeoMetrix grid displays for? +
They are hub-and-tube grids that build a shape rather than a flat wall, in X, double X and triangular configurations that stand as a freestanding island. Use them when you have an open 3m x 3m stand with no back wall to work against, or for a foyer activation seen from every side. They take more floor space than a straight wall and give you less continuous graphic area for the money.
Do the backlit SEG versions need much more setup? +
Add about twenty minutes and a power order. The Backlit SEG Pop-Up Straight Display carries LED strips inside the frame and the graphic pushes into a silicone edge groove, so the face lights evenly instead of being washed from clamp lights. Book power through the organiser during the exhibitor manual window, and make sure every lead and fitting is test-and-tagged to AS/NZS 3760, because venues check and untagged gear gets pulled.
What do I do if the graphic does not sit flat on the frame? +
Check the frame is fully expanded first. Nine times in ten a rippled face means one hinge is short of its lock, not that the graphic is the wrong size. Push each channel out until the magnets seat, then re-hang the fabric from the top and work down. Fabric also relaxes in a hot hall through the day and pulls tight again overnight, so judge it in the morning rather than at 4pm.
How do I pack it so it travels well? +
Put the frame and the graphic in the same wheeled hard case, and fold the fabric on the same lines every time so wear stays in creases you already know about. Do not stack anything heavy on a collapsed frame, because the diagonals bend and then the wall will not square up again. Label the case on two faces, since freight handlers read whichever face happens to be pointing up.
How do I order, and what happens with the artwork? +
Send your stand size and the relevant exhibitor manual page and we will tell you which frame width actually fits. Artwork assistance and a 2D mockup before printing cost nothing. Email support@backdropsource.com.au or ring +61 7 3053 8668 with your show name and dates. Freight is free Australia-wide, and frames and hardware carry a 1-year warranty, so a reprint later fits the frame you already own.
