Can I hang it myself? +

No. In Australian venues anything flown above the floor is installed by the venue's approved rigger, and your own crew does not go up, no matter how light the banner is or how competent your installer. You book rigging points through the organiser during the exhibitor manual window and pay per point plus labour. Budget for that when you book the stand, because points sell out and late requests attract a surcharge.

How do I know it will be approved before I order? +

Read the rigging section of the exhibitor manual first, then order to it. The venue sets the maximum weight per point, how many points are available over your stand, and the lowest legal height the bottom of the banner may hang at. Those three numbers decide the shape and size you can buy. Send them through before production and we will confirm the frame fits, rather than you finding out on the floor.

What height should the bottom of the banner sit at? +

Usually 3m to 4m above the floor to the bottom edge, but the venue's published figure wins every time. Halls including ICC Sydney and MCEC set a minimum clearance so banners do not block sightlines or sprinklers, and organisers often cap the top height so no stand towers over its neighbours. Higher reads from further away and does less for people already standing in your stand.

Which shape should I choose? +

A circle or a square if you simply want to be found, because both read the same from every approach and the graphic wraps as one continuous skin. Choose a rectangle or the Sky Tube Flat Panel Hanging Banner when your stand faces two aisles and you want two large flat faces. Tapered and tiered shapes photograph better and cost more graphic area per footprint. Spirals and swirls suit foyers, not crowded halls.

How big should it be over a 3m x 3m stand? +

Do not fly one over a 3m x 3m shell scheme stand. Overhead signage is generally not permitted within shell scheme, and a banner sized to that footprint would be too small to read anyway. Hanging banners belong on island and peninsula stands of 6m x 3m and up, where a 2m to 3m diameter circle sits in proportion. On a 6m x 6m island, 3m across is the sensible starting point.

How does a hanging banner pack down and ship? +

The frame breaks into curved or straight tube sections that nest inside a bag, and the fabric skin folds into the same bag, so a 3m circle travels as one long soft case rather than a crate. Freight is free Australia-wide. The skin is the part that ages, picking up dust on top where nobody looks and creasing on the fold lines, so reprint the skin and keep the tubing.

How is this different from a media wall backdrop? +

Direction of view, and who installs it. A backdrop wall stands on the floor, you build it yourself, and it works on people already in the stand. A hanging banner sits above head height, is installed by the venue rigger, and works on people two aisles away. They do opposite jobs, so exhibitors on a large island usually buy both and match the artwork so the pair reads as one stand.
