What width suits a standard 3m x 3m stand? +

A 2.3m to 3m wall. Most Australian shell scheme stands are 3m wide with 2.5m high walls, so a 3m frame fills the back corner to corner, which looks deliberate but leaves nothing behind the graphic for cartons and coats. A 2.3m wall centred on the back gives you a storage gap on one side. Check the exhibitor manual before ordering to a full 3m, because some organisers quote the Octanorm centres rather than the internal opening.

Straight or curved, which should I buy? +

Buy straight unless you have a specific reason not to. A straight wall gives the most usable graphic area per dollar, packs flatter and reprints cheaply. The curve buys two real things: it stands stably without feet splayed into the aisle, and it opens up close to a metre of hidden space behind it. Pay for the curve on a corner or peninsula stand where people approach from two sides.

Can I use one of these inside a shell scheme stand? +

Yes, and it is the cheapest way to cover shell scheme walls without paying the organiser for panel graphics. The frame is freestanding, so you are not fixing anything to the Octanorm uprights, which most exhibitor manuals prohibit anyway. Keep the frame under the 2.5m wall height and stand it 100mm or so forward of the back wall so the feet sit flat on the floor.

What do I do if the fabric looks slack once it is on the frame? +

Slack almost always means the cover is not seated, not that it is the wrong size. Zip it fully closed along the bottom, then work the seams into the corners one at a time, pulling the fabric down and outward rather than sideways. If it still sags, check that no frame section has been telescoped short. A cover also relaxes in a hot hall and tightens again overnight.

Is this a zip cover or an SEG silicone bead? +

Zip-on pillowcase cover. You pull it over the frame and zip the bottom, which is quicker to change, lighter to post and cheaper to reprint than a silicone-bead SEG graphic. The trade-off is the face: a zip cover shows slight movement across a 3m span and will not sit tight enough for backlighting. Buy this for a travelling exhibition wall you reskin often, and choose an SEG frame for a permanent or backlit installation.

How do I lay out a step-and-repeat so the logos read properly? +

Set the repeat so a whole logo lands at head height across the middle of the frame, then let the pattern run off the edges. Centring the pattern on the panel fails, because subjects stand in the centre and block the one row that mattered. Stagger alternating rows, and check the mark is still readable in a phone photo taken from three metres back.

Do I need lights, and what do venues require? +

Halls are lit for circulation, not for artwork, so a graphic that looked saturated on screen can sit flat and grey once it is up. Clamp lights on the top rail lift the whole face. Order power from the organiser early, and make sure every lead and fitting is test-and-tagged to AS/NZS 3760, because venues including ICC Sydney and MCEC will ask and untagged gear gets pulled.

How does it ship, and when should I reprint rather than rebuy? +

Frame sections and the folded cover travel together in one bag, and shipping is free Australia-wide. Reprint rather than rebuy: aluminium tubing does not wear out in normal use, while the graphic dates and marks along the fold lines. Buy a new frame only when the size or shape changes.
