Frequently Asked Questions

How long does one take to set up? +

Two people and about fifteen minutes for a 2m wide unit. The frame unfolds in one movement, so most of the time goes on zipping the fabric skin on and squaring the feet. One person can do it, but you end up walking around the frame to work the tension out. Build it away from the aisle, then slide it into position once the graphic is on.

Should I buy a folding frame or a rigid lightbox frame? +

Buy folding if the stand travels more than three times a year. A folding stand costs more per square metre of graphic and uses a shallower profile, so the light spread is less generous than a 120mm extrusion. What you get back is a single case instead of a bundle of loose tubes. If the unit lives in one showroom, the Freestanding Lightbox Frames collection is better value.

What power do I need, and when do I order it? +

One 10A general power outlet per stand, ordered from the organiser during the exhibitor manual window rather than on the day. Late power orders attract a surcharge at most venues, and the electrician may not reach your stand before the hall opens. Ask for the drop at the back wall instead of the aisle side, so the lead runs behind the graphic rather than across the floor where people walk.

Which Foldable SEG Exhibition Display model do I pick? +

Pick on stand size first, then on how much of the wall you want covered. The models are different frame layouts rather than different quality levels: some are flat single panels for a 3m back wall, others step or angle to wrap a corner stand. Send us your stand dimensions and which sides are open to the aisle, and we will tell you which model numbers fit.

Will the fabric show fold lines or creases? +

Not once it is tensioned, because the silicone edge pulls the panel flat from all four sides. Creases from the case relax within an hour in a warm hall. What does show is a crease pressed in hard by something heavy in transit, so pack the skin loosely on top rather than under the frame sections. A hand steamer sorts out anything stubborn.

Can I put one inside a shell scheme stand? +

Yes, and it is the usual reason people buy them. The stand is freestanding, so nothing fixes to the Octanorm uprights, which the exhibitor manual almost always prohibits. Keep the frame under the 2.5m wall height and leave about 100mm behind it so the feet sit flat and the lead has a path back to the outlet. Damage to shell scheme panels is charged at pack-down, so resist the urge to tape anything.

Do I really need the lit version, or will the unlit models do? +

Light is worth paying for on an internal aisle or against a dark hall wall, and worth skipping if your stand sits under bright house lighting near an entrance. The Foldable SEG Exhibition Display models are unlit frames and take a standard front-lit print. The lit stand needs a backlit print instead, which is a different file on a different fabric, so decide before artwork goes to press.
